Architecture

Ours is a general practice in architecture. We don’t restrict ourselves to any particular type of work, but rather we seek to provide design and construction related services for architectural projects for which we are qualified.

  • Design and construction phase services of new facilities.
  • Renovations of and additions to existing buildings.
  • Health and life safety surveys, amendments and retrofits.
  • Accessibility compliance (ADA, Illinois Accessibility Code, etc.)
  • Roof consulting.
  • Structural investigations.

Because we are a full service firm, our in-house staff allows us to provide the engineering design of building projects, such as:

  • Mechanical engineering work (fire protection, plumbing plus heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems).
  • Electrical engineering work (power distribution, lighting, controls, fire alarm, security and data systems).
  • Energy studies.
  • Civil engineering (drainage studies, sanitary and storm water systems, water treatment facilities and distribution systems).
  • Structural Engineering

Again, because we are a “one-stop” shop for building-related professional services, we can also provide:

  • Surveying services (boundary, topographic, land development, construction, etc.)
  • Construction inspection and testing services.

We are constantly looking for ways to better serve our clientele, by acquiring the personnel, technology, training, etc. it takes to increase the depth of our expertise and offer a wider range of professional services.

We recognize that architecture is a marriage of art and science. We strive to design “space that contains, cuddles, exalts, or stimulates the persons in that space” (Philip Johnson, 1975). However, we enjoy and much prefer being known by our clients as problem solvers.
